Meet the maker
Down a winding path through a woodland garden, you reach a small building. Clad in wooden beams and half hidden behind the plants, this is Lunar Pottery Studio.
Lunar Pottery is the culmination of years of artistic experimentation, in many different media, that eventually lead Anna, the studio's ceramicist, to cycle back to her very first artistic love: clay.
Sometimes experiences in childhood really stay with us, and this is one of those times. A few months of Saturday school pottery sessions at age 7 kick started a lifetime of artistic exploration, ending up with a return to where she started.
Lunar Pottery maintains the childlike curiosity, the fun, the quirkiness, the experimentation, that Anna found in those early days. But it also draws on her life now, as a well traveled mum of two with chronic illness.
Each piece created at the studio is unique, playing a part within an overall suite of similar pieces exploring a theme. Some are quirky, most are functional, all are made with heart.
If you want to know more about Lunar Pottery, you can join us in the virtual studio to see more of our work in action. You can also explore the current collections and see past work that might inspire you for a commission.
